Actualización de la peticiónProtect Mesa Neighborhoods from Flight School Lead Exposure and Excessive NoiseCALL TO ACTION — PLEASE READ (YES, AGAIN — AND HERE’S WHY)

I know we’ve shared this call to action before, but it is critical that we continue doing this consistently. Please email every Mesa City Council member and the Mayor and clearly state that you do NOT support using City general fund dollars to subsidize Falcon Field, especially given how the airport is currently overran with flight schools.

As taxpayers, we should not be asked to cover the costs of:
• High-volume flight school wear and tear
• Runway congestion and safety risks
• Noise and pollution impacts on neighborhoods
• An airport that is supposed to be self-sustaining

Using general fund money would shift the burden from the users who create the impacts to residents who don’t use the airport at all. That is not fair, and it is not acceptable.

Landing fees are the appropriate, lawful solution because they:
• Keep the airport self-sustaining
• Ensure those who use it the most pay the most
• Reduce repetitive touch-and-go saturation
• Protect taxpayers from subsidizing private flight training businesses

Please be respectful, but be firm. Share how this affects your quality of life, and make it clear that you expect the City to stand with residents, not bail out an airport that has allowed congestion to spiral out of control.

Email the Mayor and ALL Council Members and Tell them clearly: No general fund subsidies. Yes to landing fees.

Mayor: Mark Freeman – mayor@mesaaz.gov

City Council Members:

Rich Adams – district1@mesaaz.gov

Dorean Taylor – district2@mesaaz.gov

Francisco Heredia – district3@mesaaz.gov

Jenn Duff – district4@mesaaz.gov

Alicia Goforth – district5@mesaaz.gov

Scott Somers (Vice Mayor) – district6@mesaaz.gov

Even if you’ve already emailed once, email again. A steady, consistent message from everyone is how residents are heard!
