This morning, another flight-training aircraft crashed, this time from CAE. Thankfully, early reports suggest no fatalities, but this is yet another warning sign of what we’ve been talking about for months: the skies over Mesa are simply too congested with repetitive flight-training traffic.
We’ve been raising the alarm that the current volume of touch-and-go operations, overlapping training routes, and intense circuit congestion are creating conditions where the margin for error keeps shrinking. Today’s accident is a reminder that this isn’t just a “noise issue” or a “quality-of-life issue.”
It is a safety issue, for pilots, students, instructors, and for the neighborhoods directly underneath these patterns.
This is exactly why our petition exists:
- To reduce excessive repetitive training
- To bring operations back to a safer, more manageable level
- To encourage responsible use of our community airspace
- And to prevent incidents like today’s from becoming more frequent
We should not have to wait for a tragedy before action is taken.
If you haven’t already, please share the petition and help us continue pushing for responsible, balanced airport operations.
