Every morning, the sound begins. Propeller planes roar over our rooftops, circling in patterns that go on for hours, often from dawn until late at night. What used to be the occasional hum of an aircraft has become relentless congestion—a constant backdrop of noise and pollution in our daily lives.
This would be difficult enough to bear, but there’s another layer: the planes flying above us are burning leaded fuel. Lead is a known poison. Doctors say there is no safe amount of exposure, especially for children. And yet, here in Mesa, entire neighborhoods are being forced to live beneath a steady stream of it.
Falcon Field is not isolated. It is surrounded by families, schools, and parks—a dense, vibrant community that deserves protection. Instead, we are being treated like collateral damage for an airport that has grown far beyond its intended purpose.
We’re not asking for silence. We’re asking for fairness, for safety, for accountability. Unleaded fuel exists. Other airports are moving forward. Why should our children breathe lead when solutions are already here? Why should our neighborhoods be treated as training grounds at the expense of our health and peace of mind?
The good news is that our message is spreading—we are almost at 1,000 signatures. That’s nearly one thousand voices standing together to say enough is enough. With your continued support, we can push this issue into the spotlight and demand the change our community deserves.
Thank you for standing strong. Every signature, every share, and every voice is bringing us closer to protecting the future of our neighborhoods.
