Over the last three years, I have experienced firsthand the repercussions of false domestic abuse allegations. It began when I summoned the courage to report my abusive partner to the police. Instead of getting protection, I was dealt another blow of injustice when she fabricated accusations against me.every time there was no further action another call went in an i would be re arrested for upto 24 hours a time Often leading to me missing work or appointments or just losing my spare time. I feel it is not the end an every time my door knocks its gunna be the police even though i know i have done no wrong doings. I currently feel i got.to record my whereabouts constantly weather that is through home cctv recordings or dash cam while im out jist incase i need to prove were i have been. It took 6weeks for the police to come out to me initially to take my statement Sadly, I am not alone. Every year, countless men find themselves fighting to clear their names in a similar situation, caught in their partners' web of lies to sidestep their own wrongdoings.

There is a discrepancy in the current system that shields false accusers from consequences. An estimated one in 10 men have dealt with wrongful abuse allegations in domestic cases, according to a report by Save Services (2018). This has dire impacts on these men’s lives, from legal complications and financial burdens to the immeasurable emotional toll.

Now, it's time to change the narrative. We call upon legislative bodies to take affirmative steps to protect men from false domestic abuse allegations. Such measures could include stricter penalties for intentional falsification or suborning claims, as well as support systems to safeguard those wrongly accused. We must strive for justice that protects innocent parties while still ensuring that true victims are heard and protected.
