Save MagoebaskloofLimpopo, South Africa
Apr 20, 2025

Dear Supporters,

Thank you – because of you, our petition to save Magoebaskloof has gathered over 500 signatures and counting! 🌿 Your voice has shown that this cause is more than a local issue; it’s about protecting a piece of South Africa’s natural soul.

Now we need your help to reach even further. We’re expanding our campaign beyond our community, inviting nature lovers, hikers, birders, photographers, and heritage guardians nationwide to join. Magoebaskloof’s tranquil forests and rare wildlife (like the Cape Parrots you’ve heard about) belong to everyone, and everyone’s voice is needed to protect them.

Here’s how you can help right now:

  • Share the petition link with at least 3 friends who love nature or hate seeing wild places commercialized. A personal note from you can make a huge difference.
  • Post on social media about why you signed. If you have a great photo from Magoebaskloof or just a passion for conservation, share it! (Use hashtags like #SaveMagoebaskloof #ProtectOurHeritage to reach others.)
  • If you’re in any WhatsApp or Facebook groups (birding clubs, hiking groups, community forums), drop the link there with a quick explanation.

Every additional signature gets us closer to the critical mass we need – petitions with over 1,000 supporters are much more likely to get decision-makers’ attention. Let’s aim high! Each of you can help turn 500 into 1,000 and beyond.

We’re also planning to present our petition to local authorities and environmental bodies soon. The more names we have, the louder our collective voice will be. You’ve already proven that people care. Now, let’s show that an entire nation cares.

Thank you again for standing up for Magoebaskloof. Together, we’re defending not just a location on the map, but the principle that South Africa’s natural heritage is not for sale. 🌳✨

With gratitude and determination,

The Save Magoebaskloof Campaign Team
