Dear Supporters,
We would like to provide a brief update on our continued efforts to improve safety at the Duke street pedestrian crossing.
Following earlier correspondence, we have now sent a formal follow-up to Hon. Edmond Atalla MP seeking an update on the proposed raised zebra crossing.
We have been advised that assessments under the Towards Zero Safer Roads Program will be held until March 2026, with a decision and approval anticipated in April 2026.
While the recently implemented speed limit reduction and improved signage are welcome developments, the crossing remains vulnerable and heavily used by school children, worshippers, and bus passengers each day. We will continue advocating for stronger safety measures.
We appreciate your ongoing support and will keep you informed as soon as further updates are received.
Kind regards,
Zaheed Dokadia
