Dear Supporters,
I wanted to provide you with an update on our efforts to improve pedestrian safety on Duke Street. Transport for NSW has responded to our concerns, acknowledging the risks but stating that a speed hump is not appropriate because Duke Street is a State road. Instead, they are considering reducing the speed limit to 50km/h.
In response, I have pushed back, highlighting that Rooty Hill Road North—also a State road—has multiple speed humps near high-pedestrian areas, including a school. I have also reminded them of the tragic Plumpton incident and shared stories from two parents whose children were injured at this very crossing. I have urged them to install pedestrian crossing lights as a practical measure to ensure both pedestrian and motorist safety.
This fight is far from over, and we need to keep the momentum going! Please continue to share the petition with your friends, family, and community. The more voices we have, the stronger our case becomes.
Let’s keep pushing for real change before another tragedy occurs.
Thank you for your support!
