Protect Lilly: A Mother Dog Unfairly Accused of Aggression
Protect Lilly: A Mother Dog Unfairly Accused of Aggression
The Issue
Lilly, a mother dog in Helen, WV, USA, is being unfairly accused of aggression. The incident that sparked this controversy involved a 14-year-old boy who was seen kicking her puppy repeatedly. Despite pleas from bystanders to stop his cruel actions, the boy continued until Lilly intervened to protect her baby. As an animal rescue worker and witness to this event, I can attest to the fact that Lilly was acting purely out of maternal instinct.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident for the boy or for our town. This same individual has been observed mistreating Lilly at the bus stop on multiple occasions and it's clear that several adults in our community also act with disregard towards her wellbeing.
It's important to note that dogs biting out of fear or protection are not uncommon - according to American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), dogs may bite when they perceive a threat to their puppies. This behavior does not make them dangerous or aggressive by nature.
Lilly deserves justice and understanding from our community instead of punishment for protecting her puppy from harm. Let us stand together against animal cruelty and work towards creating a safer environment for all animals in Helen.
Please sign this petition if you believe in fair treatment for all animals and want justice served righteously for Lilly.
