Since being sworn in as a School Board member, Whitney Smith McIntosh has repeatedly violated the Southeast Polk School District's Code of Ethics by making hateful and derogatory comments about the LGBTQ+ Community, using her position on the board to push her Republican agenda, and has bad-mouthed and conspired against her fellow board member.

School Board is supposed to be a NONPARTISAN position. Whitney has repeatedly disregarded her oath to serve ALL students at SEP, regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.

Whitney has done interviews within the last few weeks AS a board member, where she calls on her "fellow conservatives" to speak up against "boys coming to school in dresses... and teachers teaching that there are 82 genders."

She has posted memes with derogatory statements about Trans women that say, "That dude looks like a lady" and said that calling someone by their preferred name and pronouns is "Delusion."

Whitney has made public Facebook comments that say, "PRIDE is a sin. PRIDE will invite the wrath of God. Sexually confused people need help..." on a photo that shows a holy city being hit with fireballs or meteors, with the words, "Fireworks in honor of Pride Month." A photo which she also "Liked."

Whitney has every right to believe what she pleases, but she also has a duty as a member of the School Board to follow the Code of Ethics that apply to all student and faculty.

Whitney's comments are bullying at best, and hate speech at worst.

If you believe that we should hold our School Board members to the same ethical standards that we hold our students and staff to, please sign this petition to demand that the Southeast Polk Administration immediately remove Whitney Smith McIntosh from the School Board.

We wouldn't tolerate bullying from a student or teacher, so It shouldn't be tolerated in the adults who hold leadership positions, either.
