I've always been fascinated by the amazing Leatherback Sea Turtles. These magnificent creatures are truly inspiring, and yet, they face a real threat to their existence. Leatherback Sea Turtles, the largest of all sea turtles, are currently listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Years ago, thousands of these turtles swam in our oceans, but today, their population has declined drastically. Commercial fisheries, ocean pollution, climate change, and resort development are among the main threats that these incredible creatures face. Canada, specifically Ontario, plays a critical role in supporting nesting beaches for the Leatherback Sea Turtles.

We are obligated to protect these beautiful creatures, not just for our sakes, but for the sake of future generations as well. It's high time we recognize the importance of coexistence and raise our voice to prevent the extinction of Leatherback Sea Turtles.
