Protect Lauderhill’s Future – Restore LHPP and Demand Transparency
The Issue
Lauderhill is facing hard times. Families are struggling with unemployment, rising costs, and limited access to healthcare and opportunities. Programs like the Lauderhill Health and Prosperity Partnership (LHPP) are more important than ever.
Unfortunately, our most successful community partnership—the Lauderhill Health and Prosperity Partnership (LHPP)—is under attack.
Four members of the City Commission and administration have:
🚫 Froze over $250,000 in grant funding
🚫 Fired the two staff members who managed LHPP
🚫 Included LHPP in an audit of a grant whose implementation had nothing to do with LHPP
🚫 Rehired the least effective employee while cutting the actual program leads
🚫 Told funders they’ll restart the fully funded LHPP Neighborhood HUB under a different name, cutting out the community subcouncils, the partners, and Commissioner Dunn, the founder
🚫 Removed vital programs like Lauderhill Shines and Lauderhill Peace365
🟨 We Demand:
- Immediate rejection of Resolution No. 25R-09-166
- Reinstatement of LHPP as a city-supported and community-led initiative
- Public acknowledgment of the misuse of process and authority
- Clear communication, transparent with funders, residents, and partners
- A commitment to protect grassroots leadership from political retaliation
🧡 Why LHPP Matters:
LHPP is not just another program—it’s a model for what’s possible when the city invests in its people:
• Supported over 150 local entrepreneurs through Lauderhill Shines.
• Raised over $350,000 in outside investment for community-driven projects.
• Brought neighbors together to promote peace and resolve conflicts through initiatives like Lauderhill Peace365.
• Launched programs in neighborhoods such as LHPP Neighborhood HUB in Lauderhill Point and Devon Hut that build safety, health, and opportunity.
Every day this freeze continues, opportunities are being lost. Young people lose safe spaces, entrepreneurs lose vital support, and families lose resources they rely on.
