Today, the Online Safety Bill becomes law. To mark this long-awaited moment, we have shared this petition signed by more than 76,000 of you - calling for social media to be made safe by design - with Ofcom as they begin their vital work to enforce the new laws to protect children online. We’d like to thank each and every one of you who signed and commented, for showing your support to make social media safer.

We also delivered a supporting letter from Global Action Plan, Dove, Parenting Mental Health, 5 Rights, Girlguiding, Beat, and Mental Health Innovations urging Ofcom to place the harmful design of social media front and centre of the duties placed on platforms by this new Act.
