The next stage of Global Action Plan’s campaign to make social media safe by design will call out the extent and impact of misogynistic content experienced by pre-teen and teenage boys. See this blog post for more information.
Do you have a son who has become caught up in the insidious and downright misogynistic content spread by influencers such as Andrew Tate? Have you seen them become affected by what they are seeing online? Has this had an impact on your family?
This isn’t your fault, or your son’s fault, it is the design of social media which exposes our boys to this content, whether they have chosen to see it or not.
We are making a film which illustrates the impact this toxic content can have on boys, and we are very keen to ground this in real life experiences of parents and their sons. Would you consider telling us your story – all your details would remain absolutely confidential and you wouldn’t appear in the film in anyway?
This is a very important opportunity to protect our boys now and in the future, we will be using this film to ensure that Ofcom create a set of regulations which ensure that social media is safe by design so we would hugely appreciate hearing how social media has affected your son and family.
Do please send us an email at safersocials@globalactionplan.org.uk if you would like hear more.
