The Issue

We, the undersigned residents and supporters of the Inverrary community in Lauderhill, Florida, strongly oppose the proposed rezoning of parcels located at 3840 & 4031 Inverrary Blvd from Commercial Recreation to Residential Irregular.

This change would allow the construction of 880 high-density rental units on land formerly used as a golf course, fundamentally altering the character and safety of our neighborhood.

⚠️ Our Main Concerns:
Traffic & Safety: The area is already congested with daily backups, accidents, and limited road capacity. Adding hundreds of cars will make it worse and endanger residents.
Environmental Impact: The golf course is home to active wildlife including birds, foxes, and coyotes. Construction would destroy vital green space.
Property Value: Turning our quiet, residential community into a high-density rental hub will decrease property values and disrupt our quality of life.
Community Access & Infrastructure: The roads, schools, and public services are not equipped to handle this kind of overdevelopment.
Violation of Trust: Rezoning to benefit developers or individuals with real estate interests, especially if board members are involved, undermines the community’s trust and violates fiduciary duty.

✅ We Request:
That the City of Lauderhill Planning and Zoning Board and the City Commission reject the rezoning request;
That the parcels remain zoned Commercial Recreation or repurposed in a way that benefits all residents, not just developers;
That any further planning discussions include full community input and transparent processes.
