Protect Indiana Communities: Stop Restricting Law Enforcement

Indiana’s communities and public deserve to feel safe, secure, and supported no matter if they're at home or at an event with their family. House Bill 1186 authored by Indiana's State Representative Stephen R. Bartels from District 74 will increase restrictions on law enforcement causing difficulties' for officers to effectively serve and protect. These limitations not only hinder their ability to respond to emergencies but also create unnecessary barriers to proactive policing and keeping the public safe. 

Law enforcement officers are on the front lines every day, risking their lives to protect ours, By restricting their ability to enforce laws and maintain order, we are putting both them and our communities in danger. These restrictions like House Bill 1186 can lead to delayed response times, by limiting where officers can work and where they have police powers, hindering their ability to protect and serve thus reducing public safety, and an erosion of trust between communities and the people who have sworn to protect them.

Lets stand together and protect our communities by ensuring law enforcement has the support they need to keep Indiana safe. Let’s prioritize public safety, empower our officers, and build stronger, safer neighborhoods for everyone.
