Every day in LA, immigrants are detained by ICE and forced to fight deportation alone — with no lawyer by their side.

This is inhumane. It's unfair. And it goes against the values LA claims to stand for.

We demand that LA County and the City of LA fund a universal legal defense program for immigrants facing deportation — no exceptions.

Everyone deserves a fair chance. Everyone deserves a defense.

We urge LA County Supervisors Hilda Solis, Holly Mitchell, Lindsey Horvath, Janice Hahn, and Kathryn Barger — as well as Mayor Karen Bass — to fully fund legal defense for immigrants facing deportation in LA.
