I am sharing my personal story to emphasize the urgent need to protect and enforce human rights for everyone. As a survivor of child sexual abuse, I have experienced firsthand the devastating impact of being blamed and not believed. This plight is not unique to me. Countless survivors of sexual assault, irrespective of gender, face victim-blaming and are deprived of justice. We must stand united to ensure every survivor is believed, supported, and afforded the full protection of the law.

Furthermore, our society continues to grapple with pervasive discrimination. People of color still face systemic racism, manifesting in countless areas of their lives—from employment disparities to social injustices. The LGBTQIA+ community confronts relentless attempts to strip away their rights, notably in states where marriage, adoption, and even the freedom to openly declare their identity are under attack. In such climates, individuals are not just marginalized; they are rendered invisible, their rights perceived as negotiable rather than inalienable.

Women, too, are experiencing a rollback of their hard-fought rights. With landmark rulings under threat and essential healthcare rights being curtailed, women's autonomy and unalienable rights are increasingly called into question. This is unacceptable in the 21st century, where equality should be the foundation of our communities.

Enduring these injustices compels us to fight for a world where all people are treated equitably and with respect. We demand robust measures to protect the rights of marginalized communities and the survivors of sexual violence. Governments, legislators, and societies must be held accountable to ensure that everyone is afforded their basic human rights, no matter their color, identity, or life experiences.
