We call on the international community and democratic governments to pay attention to reports of possible human rights violations during mobilization in Ukraine.

Ukraine is courageously defending itself against Russian aggression, and we strongly support the right of Ukraine to defend its independence and freedom.

However, an increasing number of testimonies, videos and reports suggest that in some cases mobilization procedures involve forced detention of people on the streets and the use of physical or psychological pressure by territorial recruitment centers.

Even during wartime, respect for human rights, dignity and the rule of law must remain fundamental values.

We respectfully call for:

— transparency in mobilization procedures  
— investigation of reported cases of abuse or violence  
— protection of the rights and dignity of Ukrainian citizens

The defense of freedom should never come at the cost of violating the freedom and dignity of one's own people.
