Hello Heritage Harbour Protectors,  the petition is now at 1989 signatures. Congrats to all. Keep on sharing. Let's get it to 2500!

FYI, as you can see from the included flyer image, HAVN Saunas are having an info session at the Maritime Museum on Ogden Ave in Kits Point, on May 19 from 5-7pm to pitch their barge spa proposal. I'm encouraging everyone to attend this session and let HAVN know that you don't think this massive barge spa is a good fit for this small heritage harbour.

The illustrations in their promotional material portray the barge spa as being a much smaller structure than it would be in actuality. This tactic reflects poorly on their integrity.

For much more accurate images of the impact of the barge on the harbour, check out the renderings of design professional and architecture teacher Duane Elverum at the following google drive link

Vancouver Maritime Museum Rezoning Application - HAVN Barge View, Impact, Size and Navigation Concerns

Duane's renderings illustrate how the Vancouver Maritime Museum application misrepresented the size of the HAVN Barge in their rezoning application; the lost viewpoints from various parts of the harbour and Teetotaler Beach; and the navigation hazards and dredging requirements of the proposed location.

These dredging requirements could  mean the end of Teetotaler Beach as a swimming beach as the swim area would cross over the revised route of the boats coming and going in the harbour.

Thanks for your continued support.
