Our county holds a significant diversity index of 75.1%, the highest in Georgia. This is not just a statistic; it's a reflection of our neighbors, teachers, students, and leaders. It’s our responsibility to ensure our schools are safe, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone. Education thrives in environments where every child and educator feels respected and valued, free from attacks on their religion, race, ethnicity, or identity. It's crucial to differentiate between respectful disagreement and harmful bigotry. Criticism should never cross into personal attacks.
As a committed parent in this community, I am deeply invested in showing our children what it means to stand up for what is right. We must consistently demonstrate that hate and division do not define us. I want our educators to know they are supported and appreciated, and I want our children to learn that treating everyone with dignity and respect is fundamental, regardless of differences in appearance, belief, or background.
