For more than 30 years, Douglas County taxpayers have financed the acquisition and protection of open space – and Greenland Ranch south of Larkspur is one of the crown jewels, with 40,000 protected acres.

Greenland Ranch is threatened by an out-of-state developer trying to annex Douglas County land to build a massive 120-pump gas station with 780 parking spaces next to this vital ecological treasure with hiking, biking and horseback trails. 

We respectfully request that Douglas County Commissioners George Teal, Abe Laydon and Kevin Van Winkle fight to protect the county’s wildlands by opposing the annexation of county land for inappropriate development next to Greenland Ranch.
