Protect Green Hills from Inappropriate Sexual Health Curriculum

The Issue

We are the parents, residents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, teachers, and taxpayers of Green Township, NJ and SAY NO to the implementation of any new curriculum or instruction regarding sexualized content at Green Hills School. We are the majority who may have missed the summer survey, or felt fearful, or didn't have the time to answer each of the intricate questions. We support the need to promote and teach the acceptance of any child but DO NOT support teaching ideologies and personal lifestyle preferences.

Opting-out of these lessons is NOT a reasonable solution as all children will hear it second hand from their classmates who have been exposed to these vile teachings from authority figures. We find that this material is not age appropriate for children K-8 (ages 5-14) and therefore should not be taught at our school. It infringes on our parental rights on sensitive and perverse material that conflicts with our religious, moral, and community values.

2nd graders don't need to learn medical terms for genitals at school.
7th graders don't need to learn about gender identity at school.
8th graders don't need to learn details on vaginal, anal or oral sex at school.

While we appreciate the efforts to modify the curriculum, we still feel strongly that it does not align with the majority in Green Township. Our COMPROMISE to satisfy the NJ mandates on the Sexual Health curriculum in order to receive funding is to teach these lessons on the last 1-2 days of school as an OPT-IN from the minority. We plan on keeping our children home.

I sign this petition as a Green Township resident or adult family member of a Green Hills student, advocating for children by not accepting this inappropriate curriculum. Our tax dollars should be used to assist our children who are trying to recuperate from 2 years of distanced learning. If you cannot read, you cannot learn, you cannot prosper. Let's refocus and prioritize the fundamentals in education so that Green Township children won't be the sad, lacking statistic that many NJ districts have become.
