GARDEN HAVEN - GOOD MENTAL WORKSHOPS - FOR CHILDREN IN THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS

And we are off …. I am still very much wanting to work with children in nature but now trying to do it in a different guise with the hope of ‘HELPING YOUNG MINDS GROW STRONGER’. 

The premise of the GOOD MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOPS is that in the morning we will go outside in nature (i.e. in local woods, meadows & streams etc) in Sarratt & do gentle activities (free play, games, mindfulness exercises). I have four different routes with different experiences along the way (streams, swings, trees to climb etc etc) planned for each day of the week. We might even try to have lunch outdoors too (but that might be an ask too far - let’s see where life takes us). In the afternoon back in our Yurt & Garden we may TRY to express/understand the feelings/sensations that they felt when outdoors. This could be done by painting, creating, dance/movement, sand play etc etc. It will be their choice. Conversation/talk won’t be used except for the may be older children 10+. This is to try to help them understand what makes them happy/content and what triggers less comfortable feelings BUT also how nature affects them. The day of course will be loosely held by me (as ever) as I am eager to respond to the unexpected moments that children have a tendency to throw my way 😂.

I hope this explains a little of my vision. I have to say I am so excited. I love working with small groups of children in nature. Somehow giving them the space & freedom to be children makes my heart sing. Needless to say don’t expect your children to return home clean 😂.

We still have spaces on all days BUT please notice that we have very limited places so booking early could work in your favour.
