Florida’s manatees are one of our state’s most beloved and recognizable animals, but they continue to face serious threats. Every year, manatees are injured or killed by boat strikes, habitat loss, water pollution, and the decline of seagrass—their primary food source.

Restore seagrass beds and improve water quality.
Increase funding for manatee rescue, rehabilitation, and research.
Protect important manatee habitats from harmful development.
Hold polluters accountable for damaging Florida’s waterways.
Manatees are an important part of Florida’s ecosystems and our natural heritage. Protecting them also helps protect the rivers, springs, and coastal waters that people and countless other wildlife depend on.
