My name is Safia. I'm a 6th grade student in Utah. This year I had a chance to help at the Thompson Century Farm in Spanish Fork - one of the last firefly habitat in Utah County. I've witnessed the encroaching urban sprawl, with new buildings sprouting around the farm, threatening one of the last remaining firefly habitats in Utah.

Fireflies, also known as lightning bugs, are not just enchanting; they play a vital role in our ecosystem as indicators of environmental health.
