In late April, Rancho Cucamonga Mayor Dennis Michael quietly announced he will not be seeking reelection in November. Additionally Etiwanda Heights density approvers, Council Member Ryan Hutchinson and Kristine Scott’s terms are up in November 2026. Though, a simple drive around town will find that Hutchinson will run for a county position while Kristine Scott has remained mysteriously quiet regarding her reelection efforts for 2026.

The most controversial scenario for mayor will be Council Member Lynne Kennedy, who recently launched her mayoral campaign on social media. This will be particularly interesting due to her continued support in approving high density housing projects, specifically the density increase to Etiwanda Heights; while her district 4 residents remain opposed to those decisions.

November will be here before we know it, do not forget all current council members unanimously voted against their residents and for the developer requested high density within Etiwanda Heights Neighborhoods.
