Disabled children should be protected — but too many families are being targeted under Section 47 simply because parents refused unsafe respite, challenged poor practice, or raised safeguarding concerns.

We support Section 47 when there is real evidence of abuse or neglect.

But safeguarding must not be misused to punish parents who are protecting their child from harm.

This petition is calling for Section 47 to be used lawfully, fairly, and only when genuinely needed — so disabled children are protected and families are not traumatised by wrongful investigations.
