Thank you to everyone who has supported this petition so far. Over 1,700 people have now signed because they recognise a serious problem: safeguarding laws meant to protect disabled children are being misused in ways that harm families instead.

This is not about opposing safeguarding. It is about ensuring Section 47 is used lawfully, proportionately, and in the best interests of disabled children — not as a response to system failures or lack of services.
