Protect Dewey’s Pets—Shut Down Grooming Business Under Animal Cruelty Investigation

The Issue

No pet should suffer in silence.

In Dewey, Oklahoma, three local pet owners came forward with disturbing video footage from Angie's Pet Salon. In the videos, dogs can be heard whining in distress and, according to the pet owners, appear to be handled aggressively—some even being struck with grooming tools.

All three families filed police reports. FOX23 has confirmed the footage was taken at the salon in 2024. Now, a judge has ordered the owner to stay away from animals while facing two counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty.

But here’s the problem: this grooming business is still licensed to operate. That means more pets could be put at risk.

We’re calling on the City of Dewey and the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering to take immediate action:

  • Revoke the business license of Angie’s Pet Salon
  • Permanently bar the owner from operating any animal service business in Oklahoma
  • Strengthen enforcement of animal safety standards at grooming facilities
  • This is not about punishment. It’s about protection. Pets can’t speak for themselves—but the video, and these families, are speaking loudly enough.

If multiple pet owners can come forward with video evidence, if the courts see enough to press charges, and if the public is this alarmed—why is this business still open?

Sign now to tell Dewey city leaders: one more animal is one too many. Protect the voiceless. Shut it down.
