Protect Democracy, the Land, and Peace and Friendship... ammend Crown Lands Act Now
The Issue
The Houston government won a super majority from Nova Scotians to fix healthcare but instead of keeping hospitals open, finding new healthcare profesionals and reducing wait times they have used it to try and fire the auditor general, relax environmental standards and regulation, criminalize land protests, legislate attacks on Mi'kmaw excercising Treaty Rights and quietly eliminating "DEI" positions in the civil service and by undoing accomadations to Black and Indigenous student voice, eliminating diversity boards, and wanting the power to fire any civil servant without cause. While enacting a ban on entering the woods used the cover to allow forestry companies to log in places long considered important to local communities.
This government deems the Mi'kmaw as a special interest group rather than Treaty Rights Holders and consistently ignores their fiduciary responsibility to free and prior consent and chooses to increase tensions with the Mi'kmaw rather than to include them as a partner on the use of unceeded Mi'kmaw territory.
This government is a threat to democracy and our provinces lands and waters. It is all of our responsibility to stand against this Tyranny.
Where as this government refuses to listen to public input, seeks to increase its powers and limit transparency, and attempts to legislate heavy handed fines against dissonance it is necessary for Nova Scotians to take direct action to bring the government back to serving the people.
Time for the people to take the power back!
Sign this Petition if you want changes to the Crown Lands act by Bill 127 reversed and the government to ensure that all future bills are given proper time for public awareness and good debate and to actively consult all Nova Scotians on new policies especially those outside the platform they were elected to enact.
