Allow People to override the SCOTUS refusal to take a presidential eligibility case!

The Issue

On January 6, 2021, Donald Trump incited a violent mob to attack the United States Capitol in an attempt to overturn the results of a free and fair election. This act of sedition endangered countless lives and struck at the very heart of our democracy

The Constitution serves as the bedrock of our nation, providing us with fundamental rights and safeguards against tyranny. However, it is essential that we acknowledge its limitations and adapt when necessary.

The Supreme Court, while a vital institution in our democracy, is not infallible. It is composed of human beings who can be subject to biases or political pressures. Granting citizens the right to override their decisions in specific cases would act as a necessary check on potential abuses of power.

A constitutional amendment granting American citizens the right to override any future refusal by the Supreme Court in cases concerning presidential eligibility would ensure that no individual who poses a threat to our democracy can evade scrutiny or accountability through legal technicalities alone

We must take action now to ensure the integrity and resilience of our democratic processes. By granting American citizens the right to override Supreme Court decisions regarding presidential eligibility cases, we can reinforce accountability and protect against potential threats to our democracy.

Here is an example of how the amendment could work:

A citizen or group of citizens creates a petition requesting that the Supreme Court take up a presidential eligibility case.

The petition is circulated and signed by a certain number of citizens (e.g., 1 million signatures).

Once the petition has reached the required number of signatures, it is submitted to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is then required to take up the case and issue a ruling.
