Ill be around with the physical version of the petition tomorrow, I would love volunteers to help. And we have a call on the Federal Level for all history facts about this place. I need your help finding local historians and gurus, post on the facebook group or talk to the volunteer contact you know. This place is so historically significant and so beautiful and open to all residents.. The original McLeod Trail cart line sprawling over the hill like a web. The walk along heritage route at the top of the hill, placed with momentous effort in research by historian Bill Dunn and the Museum Of The Highwood its a free mini walk along museum. The backdrop of our historic twin grain elevators, and if you are lucky you will catch a glimpse of the train running along the line on the picture perfect place.
As this living snapshot of time remains undisturbed, but also on display we have a great balance of nature and history to see. With great views from the lower hamlet and the upper lookout. A reminder of the countryside, our heritage and a preserved example balance between the natural beauty of the Foothills region and the industrious efforts of generations of people living in De Winton can strike a balance and preserve one another.
Call anyone you know that knows about history and let us know on the community facebook group. But please share.
