Tomorrow at 10AM, Council votes on the future of Rainbow Bay and Snapper Rocks.

After months of discussion, many residents have only just become aware of what is proposed — and once approved, decisions of this scale are difficult to reverse.

This is why the official Queensland Parliamentary Petition matters right now.

It is the only formal way the community can be recorded before the vote, so please please sign & share this on any platform and with any people you know:

Many people support upgrades and safety improvements. The concern is whether demolition became the default outcome before alternatives were fully explored or clearly presented.

Community members have raised concerns including:

• Removal of the existing surf club rather than upgrading it

• Limited opportunity to comment on a replacement building design

• Potential impacts to the headland and Norfolk Pines

• Loss of surf checks and practical access

• Parking pressure and commercialisation of the foreshore

• How consultation feedback was evaluated

• Whether viable non-demolition alternatives were properly considered

• Even key stakeholders have expressed uncertainty about the proposal.

You may also respectfully contact councillors and representatives tonight or early tomorrow morning and ask them to consider a short pause so the community can fully understand the decision.

Note, this is not the absolute final stand to this, but it IS the final chance to have our say to council about what we actually want, If this is approved, what comes next is advocating to the State Government, & a DA for redevelopment of the club.
