The optional nature of these regulations means compliance is inconsistent at best, leaving countless participants exposed to psychological and financial harm.
As prize draw sites aren't regulated by the gambling commission, they bypass gambling blocks on bank cards by using general retail or MCC's. As the code for gambling isn't used, our banks allow these payments.
I propose that we close to loophole on unregulated gambling and mandate Gambling Licences for prize draw sites. Bringing prize draw competitions under the regulatory oversight of the Gambling Commission is a vital step. This will allow for consistent enforcement of fairness, transparency, and consumer protection, aligning these competitions with the same ethical standards expected of the larger gambling industry.
