A new post from Councillor Ahmed Ouf’s page has added to the urgency of this petition.

Following the Lakemba Mosque incident, he published a statement that appears to praise one of those involved, frame the incident in highly charged political language, and call for further public escalation.

This matters because elected representatives should be helping lower tensions, not intensifying them.

The petition already asks Cumberland City Council to review public statements made by Councillor Ouf under its Code of Conduct. This latest post reinforces why that review should now be treated as urgent.
