In the Austin community on the west side of Chicago, our children are facing an unimaginable crisis. Reports have emerged of young students from George Leland Elementary being coerced into participating in illegal sexual activities with predators in the community. Parents and community members are unsure where to turn for support and protection. This petition, organized by Destined For Greater Girls Organization, is a call to action for every Chicagoan and Austin resident to raise their voice and demand urgent intervention to protect our children from human trafficking.

We are urging the political leaders, law enforcement, and educational leaders in the Austin community to take decisive steps in preventing and addressing this dangerous issue. This requires not only proactive measures to prevent trafficking but also reactive support systems to assist those who have been affected.

What We’re Calling For:

1. Increased Awareness and Community Support - Initiate community meetings and distribute resources to inform parents and residents about human trafficking and empower them with the knowledge to protect their children.

2. Stronger School Protection Measures - Implement safeguarding policies within George Leland Elementary to protect students and educate staff on how to detect and report signs of trafficking.

3. Enhanced Law Enforcement Engagement - Call for a dedicated task force from the Chicago Police Department to increase patrol and provide resources to investigate and dismantle human trafficking operations in the community of Austin. 

4. Leadership Accountability - Ensure local leaders and school administration are transparent and responsive in addressing these threats to our children’s safety.
