Hello everyone,
We have major news — this fight isn’t over.
After The Reserve at Haw Creek was approved 3–2 on September 8th, legal experts have confirmed the City of Bunnell violated Florida’s statutory deadlines, and we’re now moving forward with a formal legal action to hold them accountable under state law.
This isn’t a citizen appeal — it’s a statutory case under Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, focused on enforcing Florida Commerce’s 180-day rule. If successful, it could invalidate the City’s adoption and force the process to restart lawfully.
We’ve been working closely with a respected environmental attorney who helped confirm the case’s validity and is advising us as we secure local legal representation to file it.
To cover the filing, record certification, and attorney costs, we’ve launched a GoFundMe Legal Fund.
💚 Every donation counts:
- 200 people giving $75 each = $15,000 goal met
- 500 people giving $30 each = goal met
- 1,000 people giving just $15 each = goal met

Even $5 or $10 helps keep this moving. We haven’t shared this publicly yet — petition signers are the first to know as we finalize filings and minimize unnecessary online trails.
This legal action could force the City back to square one, reduce the project’s size, and buy crucial time for conservation partners like the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation and NRCS to explore acquisition or protection options.
Your support right now means everything. Let’s make sure this land — and Flagler’s rural future — get the fair, lawful review they deserve.
With gratitude,
Savannah Brinkworth
