The Issue

BSAP funding should stay in LAUSD because it provides important support and resources for Black students that help close achievement gaps and create more equal opportunities in education. Programs funded through BSAP give students access to academic support, mentorship, cultural programs, and mental health resources that positively impact both learning and personal growth. Removing or reducing this funding could hurt the progress that has already been made and take away valuable support systems that many students rely on. Keeping BSAP funding shows that LAUSD is committed to equity, inclusion, and helping every student succeed.
