Happy holidays! We have some important new information to share. The county has created a survey to help guide their decision making on Bryan County historic preservation. PLEASE take 2 minutes to give your feedback (scroll to the bottom of the page linked). The more support, the better. Please note that the City of Richmond Hill does have a formal preservation ordinance but the City of Pembroke does not, contrary to the introduction in the survey. They do have a facade ordinance but no true preservation ordinance or Historic Preservation Commission to guide or enforce. Also, please know that it is not required to do the mapping portion of the survey. Bryan County Commissioners, Manager, and Community Planning have been made aware of the 750+ already recorded historic resources in the county via Georgia's Natural, Archaeological, and Historic Resources GIS (GNAHRGIS) but please, absolutely feel free to add any site or structure that you feel to be significant. Please share this survey with any friends or family that believe the history of Bryan County needs to be preserved and protected. Please also consider attending and sharing your support during public comment at the December County Commissioner meeting tomorrow, December 9th at 5:30 PM, located at 66 Captain Matthew Freeman Drive in Richmond Hill (county administrative complex). Thank you!
