The negative impacts on whales as a consequence of noise pollution from cargo ships is well researched and a prevalent issue across Canada’s coast. There is not yet an official policy that requires that cargo vessels reduce their speed to protect our local whales and other marine wildlife.

This petition aims to contribute towards government action to reduce noise pollution from commercial shipping by mandating a required speed reduction in our waters.
