Thank you to all who attended and spoke. We had roughly 100+ parents, students, middle schoolers, and community members in attendance. There were many interesting facts uncovered. Here is the recording
The Boyertown case that Avon Grove continues to cite involved students in grades 10-12 only AND those students had access to single-use bathrooms, and floor-to-ceiling accommodations which is why it was ruled that there was no invasion of privacy. This case has no similarities to the Avon Grove school district and should have never been used as they would like you to believe.
- The Boyertown case is NOT a LAW.
- Avon Grove unilaterally decided to apply this ruling from another district for the last SIX YEARS district-wide from middle to high school without parental knowledge or communications.
- The PA Constitution IS LAW, and the board willfully chooses to violate and ignore it.
- One high school teacher has been denying requests to ANY student to use the bathroom.
But wait...there is more!
Many students and parents in the district testified that students do not feel safe, including students who identify as being transgender, while the board does nothing other than allow the administration to continue to keep the single-use bathrooms locked.
We found a High School Single Use Bathroom Request form. It's only for high school students which requires a parental signature and a student jumping through hoops to have the "privilege" to use the bathroom regularly. We are waiting for the administration and board to communicate the existence of this form or the process to parents and students.
What are middle school students supposed to do? We heard there was a line at the nurse's office to use the bathroom two weeks ago and the students were denied.
Regardless of sex or gender one identifies, using the bathroom IS a right - not a privilege.
The board is in direct violation of many things including their CODE OF ETHICS stating that they welcome and encourage active cooperation by citizens and organizations in establishing policy or current school operations and any proposed future developments.
Their actions and the board's inability to do the job they were elected to do prove otherwise. It's not about keeping children safe, it's about the money.
This is only the beginning, and we remain laser-focused on our path forward. We will keep you up to date as we progress on this journey.
Due to time constraints, the board did not cover the elementary school sex-ed/gender ideology they are going to hide in the curriculum. Remember when they removed religion from schools? They plan on pushing this form of belief onto elementary school students next.
It is more important now than ever to attend all board meetings. Do not give up. We are moving forward and will not stop.
Next Meeting - Sept 17 at 6 PM at AG Intermediate School. We encourage you to attend next week and all subsequent meetings. Speak up and continue to demand they do the job they were elected to do.
