Help us protect animals being left during typhoons as they are also live beings. By signing this petition, we hope that the local people will reflect on the problem and solve it by including the animals during evacuation.

It has been taken notice that many animals have been left behind during bagyo season, with that being said the rise of numbers of animals who died during typhoons went higher. Animals which include dogs, cats, carabaos, pigs, and many more. This issue is raised because of how overlooked animals are, they are mistreated in many ways but being left in a cage during heavy rain, no electricity, flooding while inside the house is the worst. Imagine them crying for help while no one is there to save them.

Many animals were left to drown in muddy water, being unconscious of what was happening. We hope that people can view this petition as the solution to mistreatments of animals. Animals are also alive who breathe and eat just like us, they also deserve to be rescued during disasters just like us. Let’s put into consideration the lives of others, let’s be the human who also respects animal rights.

Shocking numbers of animal cruelty have been reported each day, most cases are not even reported. Unlike violent crimes toward humans, animal violence cases are not recorded by state and federal agencies which makes it hard to resolve them. Many evacuation centers also don't allow for animals to go inside. We are hoping that evacuation centers should allow animals and also have the essentials for them like pet foods and medications for them. Cruelty and neglect has been the most cases and that’s what we’re trying to hopefully resolve. Many people choose to have an animal as a pet but neglect them when disasters are coming, this is the most known problem in the Philippines.

Purpose:

The purpose for this petition is to give animals the right they deserve. There are many options if you don’t want to own a pet anymore such as giving them to someone, selling them, and also putting them up for adoption, neglecting them is not part of the option. Every animal deserves a loving home with humans that can take care of them and can provide for their essential needs. By signing this petition you are recognizing the repeating problem of Filipinos leaving their pets during typhoons.
