Protect and Promote Sindhi Language: A Call to the Government of Sindh

Why This Petition Matters

Sindhi is one of the oldest and richest languages in the world, deeply rooted in the cultural and historical heritage of Sindh. Despite its official status in Sindh, its use in governance, public spaces, and corporate communications is diminishing. A language represents identity, history, and dignity its neglect threatens the very essence of our cultural and linguistic legacy.

To ensure that Sindhi remains a thriving and respected language, we urge the Government of Sindh to implement the following measures:

Our Demands:

1. Official Use in Government Institutions: Just as the Government of Sindh’s logo includes Sindhi and Urdu, all government institutions should display their names first in Sindhi, followed by Urdu and English.
2. Sindhi in Government Records: It must be mandatory for every government department in Sindh to maintain official records in Sindhi alongside other languages to preserve its administrative significance.
3. Signboards in Sindhi: Road signs, highway markers, and city and village entrance boards must include Sindhi to ensure its visibility in public spaces.
4. Street & Traffic Signage in Sindhi: Major cities like Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and others should have Sindhi-language signboards for streets, neighborhoods, guidance, and traffic regulations.
5. Corporate Compliance: National and multinational companies, including those in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, beverages, and consumer goods, must include product names and descriptions in Sindhi alongside Urdu and English to promote inclusivity and accessibility.
6. Sindhi at Public Transport Hubs: Every bus stop, railway station, and airport in Sindh must display place names in Sindhi and include welcoming messages such as "ڀلي ڪري آيا" (Welcome).
7. Mandatory Sindhi in Marketing & Advertising: Builders, oil and gas companies, and foreign private firms operating in Sindh should publish their promotional materials in Sindhi to acknowledge the indigenous / native language and culture.
8. Sindhi in Private Schools: Private schools must teach Sindhi with the same standards as English and other languages, ensuring at least four Sindhi classes per week. Non-compliant schools should face deregistration. 

Languages survive when they are used in governance, education, and daily life. If Sindhi continues to be sidelined, future generations will lose a vital part of their identity. By implementing these measures, the Government of Sindh can uphold its constitutional responsibility to protect and promote the Sindhi language.

سنڌي ٻوليءَ جي بچاءَ ۽ واڌاري لاءِ سنڌ حڪومت کان مطالبا 

پاران: سنڌي ٻوليءَ جي واڌاري لاءِ ھيءَ درخواست سنڌي ٻوليءَ جي بااختيار اداري پاران پيش ڪجي ٿي.

ھيءَ درخواست ڇو ضروري آھي؟

سنڌي دنيا جي قديم ترين ۽ شاهوڪار ٻولين مان هڪ آهي، جيڪا سنڌ جي ثقافتي ۽ تاريخي ورثي سان جُڙيل آهي. جيتوڻيڪ سنڌي صوبي ۾ سنڌي ٻوليءَ کي سرڪاري ٻوليءَ جو درجو حاصل آهي، پر ان ھوندي بہ سرڪاري توڙي ڪاروباري سطح تي ان جو استعمال گهٽجندو پيو وڃي. ٻوليءَ جو بچاءَ ان جي آئي وئي ڏينھن تي واپرائڻ، سرڪاري ڪاڳرن، واپار، تعليم، ۽ عوامي جڳھن تي ان جي موجودگي اَوس ھجڻ وقت جي اھم گهرج ٿئي ٿو.

ان ئي سلسلي ۾ اسان سنڌ حڪومت کي اپيل ڪيون ٿا تہ سنڌي ٻوليءَ جي تحفظ ۽ واڌاري لاءِ هيٺ ڏنل اپاءَ فوري طور تي لاڳو ڪيا وڃن:

1.     جيئن سنڌ حڪومت جي لوگو ۾ سنڌي ۽ اردو لکيل آهن، ايئن ئي سنڌ جي هر سرڪاري اداري جو نالو پھرين سنڌي، پوء اردو ۽ آخر ۾ انگريزيءَ ۾ لکيا وڃن.

2.     سنڌ جي هر سرڪاري کاتي جو ريڪارڊ ٽوڙي لکپڙه سنڌيءَ ۾ پڻ لازمي قرار ڏني وڃي.

3.     سنڌ جي روڊن رستن، هاء ويز سان گڏ شھرن ۽ ڳوٺن ٻاهران نالن جا بورڊ سنڌيءَ ۾ پڻ لازمي لکيا وڃن.

4.     سنڌ جي وڏن شھرن جھڙوڪ ڪراچي، سکر،حيدرآباد، ميرپوخاص ۽ ٻين شھرن ۾ گهٽين، پاڙن، علائقن جي نالن جا بورڊ، هدايتون ۽ ٽرئفڪ جي قاعدن وارا بورڊ  سنڌيءَ ۾ پڻ لازمي قرار ڏنا وڃن.

5.     سنڌ ۾ ڪم ڪندڙ قومي توڙي گهڻ قومي ڪمپينن، انساني ۽ زرعي دوائن جي ادارن، شربتن توڙي عام واهپي جون شين ۽ سامان وڪڻندڙ ڪمپنين کي پابند بڻايو وڃي تہ پنھنجي وکرن تي سڃاڻپي نالا اردو ۽ انگريزيءَ سان گڏ سنڌيءَ ۾ پڻ لازمي لکيا وڃن.

6.     سنڌ جي هڙني بس اسٽاپن، اسٽيشنن توڙي هوائي اڏن تي انهن جي سنڌي نالن لکڻ سان گڏ "ڀلي ڪري آيا" پڻ لکرائڻ گهرجي.

7.     سنڌ ۾ ڪم ڪندڙ آبادڪاريءَ لاءِ جڳھون اڏيندڙن، تيل ۽ گئس جي ڪمپنين، ٻاهرين خانگي ادارن کي پڻ پابند بڻايو وڃي تہ اهي پنھنجو ماڻهن کي سڌ سماءَ ڏيڻ وارو مواد سنڌيءَ ۾ پڻ لازمي ڇپائين.

8.     سنڌ جي خانگي اسڪولن کي سختيءَ سان پابند بڻايو وڃي تہ اهي اسڪولن ۾ سنڌيءَ جي سبجيڪٽ کي بہ انگريزي ۽ ٻين ٻولين جي معيار وانگي پرهائين ۽ ان سلسلي ۾ هفتي ۾ چار ڪلاس لازمي پڙهائين. سنڌي نہ پڙهائيندڙ يا سرڪاري پاليسين موجب نہ پڙهائيندڙ اسڪولن جي رجسٽريشن ختم ڪئي وڃي.

توهان جو ساٿ ڇو ضروري آهي؟

ٻوليون تڏهن زنده رهنديون آهن، جڏهن انهن جو استعمال انساني ڪاروھنوار، تعليم، سرڪاري ادارن، ۽ ڪاروبارن ۾ عام ٿيندو. جيڪڏهن سنڌي ٻوليءَ کي اک موڙي وئي تہ ايندڙ نسل پنھنجي سڃاڻپ ۽ ورثي کان محروم ٿي ويندو. ان سلسلي ۾ اسان سنڌ حڪومت کان مطالبو ڪريون ٿا تہ سنڌي ٻوليءَ جي واڌاري لاءِ فوري قدم کنيا وڃن.

 

✍ اڄ ئي ھن درخواست تي ڊجيٽل صحيح ڪري اڳتي وڌايو ۽ سنڌي ٻوليءَ جي تحفظ لاءِ پنھنجو آواز بلند ڪريو! 

اچو تہ ھن مقصد ماڻڻ لاءِ گڏجي هلون تہ سنڌي ٻوليءَ جو مانُ مٿانھون رهي.
