Hayle Harbour holds a special place in many people’s hearts, 
Many have grown up near this vibrant Cornish coast,  they’ve witnessed the bustling activity of our beloved fishing harbour, a hub of community life and culture. The fishermen heading out at dawn, their families waiting for them to return in the evening with the day's catch, it’s not just a job, it’s a way of life that has been passed down through generations.

However, the future of Hayle Harbour, including its vital fishing operations, is under severe threat from development plans. If we let developers transform this area completely, we can kiss our working harbour goodbye, and with it, the heartbeat of our local economy and heritage.

Cornwall Council claim fishing harbours like ours contribute significantly to the local economy, providing jobs and supporting small businesses - so why would they be in consultation with the developers Administration to reduce our working harbour to an extent we can't even get lorries in?

Moreover, once the fishing harbour is gone, it's gone for good. We will lose a critical part of our identity - will the MMO protect what's left?

The developers’ vision doesn’t include our boats, our catch distribution, or our heritage. It favors new hotels and car parks over our proud history.

It is up to us, the residents and supporters of Hayle Harbour and its invaluable fishing community, to stand our ground.

We must urge local authorities and councillors to refuse any new planning that reduces the fishing harbour promised when plans were passed!
