Hello supporters for the family-friendly trail!

We wanted to share the progress of our petition. In the past week we drafted an email to the bountiful city council and the trail committee, and we sent it off today. You can read it here.

There should also be a letter to the editor in the Davis Journal this week about the petition and our request. Please continue to share and let other people know about our efforts to get ONE TRAIL designated as a bike-free trail. As you can read in our letter, the hiking community is by far a larger percentage of the community than the biker community, so we hope to have them put more priority on creating space without bikers for families and hikers (with and without dogs). It sounds like they were hoping to have more space where bikers can go, and where we wouldn't notice them. It seems it's done the opposite, where it's drawn in more bikers and caused more problems. So we believe it's time to rethink the past plan and create a different direction.

Any input is always welcome as we try and find a time to speak with the city council and trail committee. If you have any stories or experiences you'd like to share, we are compiling a list for the committee. We were told by one city council member that our petition and collecting stories is a great way to approach this. Email me at angieholzer@gmail.com.

Thank you and enjoy the snow in the canyon this week!
