The Issue

We, the undersigned, call on First Bus Group to alter their proposed frequency of 40 minutes  on the  27 route back to the current 30 minutes and to provide a consistent and reliable travel link for the people of Guiseley, Yeadon, Rawdon, Horsforth, Hawksworth, Weetwood and Headingley who use this service to travel to and from Leeds City Centre and around/ between their communities.

Failure to provide a 30-minute, on-time service results in fewer people trusting the service and using it. A commitment to reliability and regularity is key for the number 27 to be economically viable for First Bus.

Far too many residents who rely on the number 27 have shared stories of the difficulties they have encountered, such as missing essential medical appointments, being late for work or having to pay for taxis to get children to school or college on time. This is unacceptable, and a change has to be made. This change, which is urgently required, is proper, half-hourly, well-advertised journeys.

On behalf of the people we represent,

Cllr Abdul Hannan, Cllr Jonathan Pryor, Cllr Izaak Wilson, Cllr Emma Flint,  Cllr Jools Heselwood, Cllr Hannah Bithell, Cllr Fiona Venner, Cllr Andy Rontree, Cllr John Garvani, Cllr Emmie Bromley, Cllr Ray Jones, Cllr Oliver Edwards, Cllr Sonia Leighton & Cllr Eleanor Thomson

Please join us in signing and telling First why this matters to you. Thank you.
