The Issue

Every worker in Idaho deserves protection from discrimination — no matter the size of their employer.

Under current law (Idaho Code 67-5907), businesses with five or fewer employees are exempt from Idaho’s anti-discrimination protections. This outdated and arbitrary exemption leaves pregnant women, rural workers, and employees at small businesses vulnerable to unfair treatment, harassment, and wrongful termination — with no legal recourse.

No expecting mother should lose their rights simply because of the size of her workplace. No Idahoan should face discrimination without protection.

We, the undersigned, call on the Idaho Legislature to amend Idaho Code 67-5907 and extend anti-discrimination protections to all workers, regardless of the size of their employer.

Fairness, family support, and equal opportunity demand that we close this harmful gap in our laws.

We urge our elected officials to act swiftly to ensure that every Idaho worker is treated with dignity and respect.
