Protect Academic Integrity and Demand a Public Forum for Transparency at Parade College
The issue
Im a Year 10 student at Parade College, and honestly, things have gotten really bad. Me and my friends, along with a ton of other students, don’t feel safe at school anymore. Bullying happens every single day—whether it's verbal, physical, or online. And the worst part? No one in charge seems to care enough to do anything. Reports get ignored, complaints get brushed aside, and students are left to deal with it alone, like it’s just ‘part of the high school experience.’ But that’s not okay—not even close.
And when students stand up for themselves, they get punished for self-defense instead of the bully actually facing consequences. If someone’s getting pushed around, hit, or threatened, they shouldn’t get in trouble for defending themselves. If the school won’t do anything to help, they can’t expect students to just sit there and take it.
We all know the stats. According to Ditch the Label, a leading anti-bullying charity, 1 in 2 young people have been bullied, and 35% of them never report it (Ditch the Label, 2019). And honestly? That’s exactly the issue at Parade College. No one speaks up because there’s no point—nothing changes. It just makes people feel stuck in a cycle where bullying keeps happening, and the people who could do something about it just... don’t.
And it’s not just bullying. Parade College has a bad track record of shutting students down and sweeping problems under the rug. If you challenge unfair decisions, if you speak out, if you ask for change—you get silenced. Whether it’s teachers restricting classroom discussions or leadership avoiding hard conversations, students at Parade aren’t being heard.
We shouldn’t have to put up with this. School shouldn’t feel like a battle every day just to get through without being harassed or shut down. Parade College needs to take responsibility and actually make changes, because whatever "systems" they have aren’t working.
What We're Demanding:
Zero tolerance for bullying—actual consequences, not empty promises.
Self-defense protections—students shouldn’t be punished for standing up for themselves.
A real system for student voices—public forums where concerns can’t be ignored.
Academic freedom protections—no more silencing discussions that matter.
Leadership accountability—no more sweeping issues under the rug.
This petition is our way of making sure they hear us—loudly. By signing, you’re helping show that these issues aren’t just minor complaints—they’re serious problems that need real solutions. If you’re a student, parent, teacher, or anyone who believes students deserve better, we need your support.
Sign the petition. Spread the word. Let’s make real change.
