My name is Zachary Nichols, and I am an art student at Marcos de Niza High School. Over the last few years, many students at Marcos who are in advanced art, including me, have been allowed to create murals for our campus. This school year we have a new principal, who was receptive to everyones concerns, but we have a new activities admin who are seemingly unsupportive of the art program, which has lead to some unfortunate and upsetting choices regarding a graduated student's mural in a new administrator's office. We were informed today that due to this piece not fitting her "style",  she is having it painted over. Keep in mind, this mural was done for free for the school and took 100+ hours to create. Did I mention my school is a fine arts school? The reason I've created this petition is to stop the mural from getting covered on Monday, August 8, or at the bare minimum get this student compensated if their mural is covered.
