Nous avons de très bonnes nouvelles !
Hier matin, le Centre des services scolaires des portages de l'Outaouais (CSSPO) a annoncé qu'il modifierait ses plans pour la nouvelle école primaire de Chelsea afin de protéger les trois terrains de soccer existants de la communauté devant le Centre Meredith (voir : 24-04-11-CSSPO Communique-presse-Emplacement-ecole-039_Chelsea.pdf (gouv.qc.ca)).
La Fondation Chelsea, qui détient ces terrains en fiducie pour la communauté, a chaleureusement accueilli l'annonce comme un compromis très apprécié qui respectera l’intention du don original des terrains tout en ajoutant de la valeur à la communauté. (voir communiqué ci-joint.)
En signant la pétition demandant ce compromis, vous avez contribué à ce résultat positif.
Nos multiples efforts pour protéger les terrains de la Fondation Chelsea de l'expropriation ont suscité un débat animé au sein de la communauté et ont abouti à un résultat positif qui profitera aux résidents de Chelsea pour des générations à venir.

We have very good news!
Yesterday morning the Centre des services scolaires des portages de l’Outaouais (CSSPO) announced that it would redesign its plans for Chelsea’s new elementary school to protect the community’s three existing soccer fields in front of the Meredith Centre (see: 24-04-11-CSSPO Communique-presse-Emplacement-ecole-039_Chelsea.pdf (gouv.qc.ca) French only) .
The Chelsea Foundation, which holds the lands in trust for the community, warmly welcomed the announcement as a much appreciated compromise that adds value to the community and maintains the integrity of the original land donation (see press release attached).
As one of the hundreds of people who signed the petition calling for this compromise you contributed to this positive outcome.
Our multiple efforts to protect the Foundation lands from expropriation created a lively debate in the community and this outcome will benefit the residents of Chelsea for generations to come.
